Welcome to the 51st Congress of the Physical Chemistry Division of the Società Chimica Italiana (CDCF51), in Bari, Italy. CDCF51 is a forum to explore fundamental questions in physical chemistry, share discoveries, and build collaborations across disciplines. Researchers at all career stages are invited to participate through oral talks, posters, and flash sessions. The Congress highlights how research—from theory and computation to experimentation—drives scientific progress and addresses global challenges. Topics range from spectroscopy, kinetics, thermodynamics, and electrochemistry to catalysis, surface science, quantum mechanics, machine learning, polymers, materials science, nanoscience, energy conversion and storage, and biophysical chemistry. Emphasis is placed on societal impact in energy, environment, circularity, and health, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
